St Mary's is the Church of England Parish Church for the southern area of Hampton. It once was the only church in the village but the parishes of St James's Hampton Hill, and All Saints' Hampton were created as the population grew and housing moved northwards.
The congregation of St Mary's are just ordinary local people united by their faith in Jesus and their desire to serve our parish. Our church's vision statement puts it this way: Christ's love has the first and last word in everything we do.
One of the most valued activities of St Mary's is the Oasis Carer/Baby/Toddler Drop in on Monday afternoons in term time in the Church Community Hall. From 1.30-3.00 pm there's a welcome for all who would like play, craft, stories, songs or just a chance to chat over coffee. Many of these families also come along to the First Steps service for the under fives on alternate Wednesday mornings.
St Mary’s Youth Club (MTV) based at the Oldfield Centre has won praise from the Police, local Councillors and the Youth Service for the creative way it has connected with young people.
A church school is a natural development in serving the families of Hampton.
